Dr. Qie got her Master and PhD degree in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Currently Dr. Qie is a Professor in the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has published more than 200 scientific publications and is a named inventor of 10 issued Chinese patents.

Dr. Ying I. Tsai has received his Ph.D. degree in National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan, in 1999. Currently, he is working as Tenured Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science and Director at the Indoor Air Quality Research and Service Center, Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science, Taiwan. He has honored many times as Yearly Talent Subsidy Incentives of Distinguished Talents Award of Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He was interested in the chemical properties and long-range transport of aerosol, but recently he extended his attention to the emission identification in nano/micron aerosol from incense burning.

Dr. Shankar G. Aggarwal obtained his Ph.D. degree (1999) in Analytical Chemistry from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, India. He is working as Senior Scientist, and his current research focus at National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Dehli, is ‘‘metrology for national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS)’’ in which he is involved in preparation of aqueous standards, preparation of gas standards and PM calibration work. So far, Dr. Aggarwal has published more than 50 papers in high impact factor journals, and has 4 patents. Recently, during 30th CITAC meeting in Paris, he received “CITAC Best Paper Award –2013” for one of his lead authored papers. He is the Principal Investigator of 2 ongoing projects (total funding ~210,000 USD).

Prof. Junling An obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996. His main research interests are air quality model development and modelling atmospheric chemical and dynamical processes related to tropospheric composition and air quality; modelling ozone-precursor relationships, sources and chemical processes of nitrous acid and impact on the atmospheric oxidative capacity and secondary organic and inorganic aerosols in rapidly developing regions; atmospheric emergency response model development; long-term soil acidification model development and assessment of critical loads of soils for acid deposition. He has published over 90 papers in scientific journals.

Dr. Ahmadi is a Clarkson Distinguished Professor, and Robert R. Hill Professor of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at Clarkson University. He has obtained his MS and Ph.D. from Purdue University. He is a Fellow of ASME, ISME and ISCE. Among his many awards, he received the 2016 ASME Freeman Scholar Award.

He has authored three books and over 600 publications in archival journals. He also has made more than 1100 presentations including 20 plenary and keynotes at national and international technical conferences, and has given more than 160 invited talks and short courses at other institutions. He has been serving as the editor, editorial board and/or editorial advisor board of fifteen international journals.

Dr. Khan Alam is working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Numerical and Physical Sciences, Department of Physics, University of Peshawar, Peshawar, KPK, Pakistan. He secured his PhD from the Department of Applied Geoinformatics (Aerosol Physics), University of Salzburg, Austria in 2011. He worked as visiting scientist at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Calgary, during October-November, 2011. He also worked as a visiting scholar at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Wessling Germany during 2008-2011. His specialized research areas include measurement and characterization of atmospheric aerosol, aerosol-cloud-precipitation interaction, particulate matter, aerosol impact on air quality, climate and human health.

Prof. Pinhas Alpert served as the Head of the Porter School of Environmental Studies, Tel-Aviv University, till 2013, and Head of the Department of Geophysics. He coauthored more than 285 articles (217 peer-reviewed). His research focuses on atmospheric dynamics, climate, aerosol dynamics and climate change. Alpert served as co-director of the GLOWA-Jordan River BMBF/MOS project to study the water vulnerability in the E. Mediterranean and as the Israel representative to the IPCC TAR WG1. Prof. Amedeo Andreotti received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University Federico II, Naples, Italy. He is currently an Associate Professor at the same university, and his teaching activity is in the fields of power systems and electromagnetic compatibility. His research interests include transients in power systems, lightning effects on power systems, electromagnetic compatibility, power quality, and smart grids. He is Associate Editor of numerous technical journals in the field of power systems. Dr. Andreotti is a Member of the IEEE Working Group “Lightning Performance of Distribution Lines” and has been a Member of the Section MT600 of the TC1 of the International Electrotechnical Commission. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Joseph L. Awange, is currently a Professor of Environmental Geoinformatics at the Department of Spatial Sciences, Curtin University, Australia. His achievements include development of computer algebra software for solving Global Positioning System-N point problem, Global Positioning System codes; first to first person to introduce groebner basis and resultant techniques in geodesy. He is Member of Lake Net, International Association Geodesy, American Geophysical Union and International Association Impact Assessment.

Mohammad Azadifar received the B.S and M.S degrees in electrical engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology in 2005 and 2009, respectively, and the Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2018.

In 2018, he joined the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Yverdon-les-Bains, where he is currently a Researcher with the Information and Communication Technologies Institute team. He authored or co-authored more than 40 scientific papers. He was the recipient of several awards and recognition such as the 2016 Best Paper Award of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON EMC.

Daniele Bocchiola is an Associate Professor (Habil Full Professor, ASN 2016) in Hydrology at Politecnico di Milano, MS in Envir. Eng. (1998), PhD Hydrology (2003), part. fulfil. at MIT. His mission covers climate change & water resources, natural hazards, agriculture, cryosphere, in the Alps, Andes, Hindu-Kush Karakorum, Himalaya, Caribbeans. Joan Bech is Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Physics - Meteorology of the University of Barcelona, Spain. He was formerly Head of Remote Sensing (weather radar, total lightning and satellite systems and applications) at the Meteorological Service of Catalonia. Current activity includes teaching at university graduate and post-graduate level and research mainly focused on atmospheric physics, precipitation processes, remote sensing, and weather radar applications.

Massimo Brignone was born in Finale Ligure (Savona, Italy) in 1979. He graduated cum laude in Mathematics and got his PhD in Mathematics and Applications in 2003 and in 2006 at the University of Genoa, respectively, where he is currently researcher. His research interests include lightning modeling and its effects on the electric infrastructures as well as direct and indirect electromagnetic problems, optimization strategy for energy management systems. He is co-author of more than 100 scientific contributions published in international journals or presented at international conferences.

John Arthur Tristram has earned his B.Sc. in Oceanography from Liverpool University. He further received Ph.D. in Metrology from London University. His professional interests are ocean circulation, air-sea interaction, climate, the dynamics of salt lakes and embayment, and historical oceanography and meteorology. He has served as an Analyst, Lecturer in Mathematics, Senior Lecturer in Earth Sciences, Associate Professor in Earth Sciences, Honorary Research Fellow at South Australian Research and Development Institute and visiting scientist at Klima Campus, University of Hamburg, Germany. He has contributed more than 70 publications and he has been cited more than 500 times in different publications.

Prof. Piero Di Carlo is assistant professor with tenure of atmospheric sciences at the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara (Italy). He graduated (BS+MD) in Physics from University of L’Aquila (Italy) summa cum laude. His Ph.D. degree is in Physics with emphasis on atmospheric science from University of L’Aquila, with a year and half of study abroad at the Pennsylvania State University (USA). He held an appointment as a postdoctoral fellow and assistant professor at the University of L’Aquila. He developed a TD-LIF system for measurements of NO2 and organic nitrates, installed on-board the UK research aircraft BAe-146, and used in different field campaigns. He was visiting professor at Harvard University, USA (2016), University of York, UK (2014) and at the Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan (2010). In 2011 and 2017 he was the director of summer schools organized by a EU network of research aircrafts (EUFAR).

Prof. H Chandra obtained masters in Physics from Agra University in 1964 and started research work in ionospheric physics at Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. He was awarded Ph. D. in 1971 for work in equatorial ionosphere based on ionospheric drifts and radio soundings from Thumba near magnetic equator. Prof. Chandra, currently honorary Professor at PRL has worked on a variety of ground-based radio and optical methods to probe middle-upper atmosphere-ionosphere and on rocket-borne Langmuir probe experiments to study equatorial spread-F and mesospheric turbulence. He has worked at the University of Adelaide in South Australia and University of Wales in UK for a number of years. He has published over 220 papers in scientific journals and is in the editorial board of Asian journal of physics.

Professor Chandrasekar obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in the area of Fluid Mechanics from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Professor Chandrasekar served as faculty member at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India for 21 years including a one year stint as Head, Center for Oceans, Rivers, Atmosphere and Land Sciences at IIT Kharagpur. Currently Professor Chandrasekar is serving as a Senior Professor in Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvanathapuram, India since July 2009. He is also the Dean (Academics) at IIST and is also presently holding the additional charge of Registrar of IIST. Professor Chandrasekar has authored a book titled ′Basics of Atmospheric Sciences′ published by Prentice Hall India Limited in 2010. He has published several scientific publications and has recently contributed a chapter to the monograph titled ˈData Assimilation for Atmospheric, Oceanic and Hydrologic Applications (Vol. II)ˈ eds. by Seon Ki Park and Liang Xu and published by Springer in 2013.

Dr. Chen received his Phd from University of Twente, The Netherlands in 2013. His research interesting is: atmospheric physics, land-air interaction, remote sensing, hydrometeorology, climate change, and numerical simulation and data assimilation. His recent work is about canopy –air turbulent exchange parameterization, and remote sensing global evapotranspiration.

Over 15 years of experience in modeling and data analysis with emphasis on meso-tropical research including tropical cyclogenesis, dust outbreak, long-range transport of aerosols and trace gases, and cloud microphysics. My goal is to advance our understanding of fundamental science in the areas of weather and climate change, and their linkages to our environment. My research activities are conducted using many different methods striving to achieve high standards of understanding, depth and completeness.

Marcelo Enrique Conti, PhD, is Associate Professor of Risk Assessment & Environmental Management at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Adjunct Professor of Environmental Economics, University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia; Professor of Environmental Management & Sustainable Development, Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas, Vatican. Editor in Chief of the . He is Member of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH): Toxicology of Metals Scientific Committee and Nanomaterial Workers’ Health Scientific Committee; he is Member of the Scientific Committees of several international scientific journals. Dr. Contini is a physicist and obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Florence in 1999. He became senior researcher at the Institute of Atmospheric Science and Climate of the Italian National Research Council (ISAC-CNR) and became Head of Division in 2009 at ISAC-CNR. His research interest is in atmospheric sciences, micrometeorology and pollution dispersal with specific focus on particulate matter and atmosphere composition. He his member of the Directive Committee of the Italian Aerosol Society (from 2012) and Secretary General of the European Aerosol Assembly (2016-2018). Dr. Cui obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in atmospheric science from Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He has published more than 80 scientific publications.

Dr. Manas Kanti Deb obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, India in 1991. Currently, Dr. Deb is a Professor of Chemistry and also holds the position of Head at the School of Studies in Chemistry & the School of Studies in Environmental Science, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, India. Federico Delfino is Full Professor of Power Systems Engineering at the University of Genoa. His scientific activity is mainly related to: integration of renewable energy sources and storages into the power delivery system; modeling and control of smart power grids and sustainable microgrids; distributed generation for smart cities applications, power systems transients, power systems management and lightning modeling. He is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University, Director of the Energy Engineering Program and a fellow of AAAS.

Jose L. Domingo was born in Tortosa (Catalonia, Spain) in 1951. He became Full Professor of Toxicology at the Universitat “Rovira i Virgili” (Tarragona/Reus, Spain) in 1993. Prof. Domingo is author or co-author of almost 600 papers (Scopus) published in international peer-reviewed journals. According to Google Scholar, these papers mean over 19,000 citations (h-index 70). Prof Domingo has received recognition by Thomson Reuters as Highly Cited Researcher (2002-2012) in the field of Agricultural Sciences and again in December 2015 (period 2003-2013). This makes him one of the top 1% of the most cited for his field.

Dr Alexandre Gagnon is a Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland with research interests in Climatology, notably vulnerability and adaptation to climate change. Alessia Di Gilio is graduated cum laude in Chemistry at the University of Bari "A. Moro" in 2008, where in 2013 she obtained PhD in Chemical Sciences. Today she is researcher on Environmental Chemistry at the Department of Biology of the same University. She is author of several publications on national and international scientific and perr-reviewed journals on air quality assessment. She collaborates with the principal public and private research groups on issues related to air pollution. Luis Gimeno is a professor of Atmospheric Physics at the University of Vigo, Spain. He received the Ph.D. degree in atmospheric physics from Complutense University, Madrid, in 1994. From 1991 to 1997, he worked for the Spanish Meteorological Institute. In 1997, he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Physics at University of Vigo at Ourense, Spain and since 2009 as Professor. Dr. Gimeno is a Member of the American Geophysical Union, the European Geophysical Union, and the American Meteorological Society. He has been working on several aspects of atmospheric sciences, mainly in troposphere-stratosphere coupling, climatic validation of synoptic conceptual models, and atmospheric moisture transport. He serves or has served in the Editorial Board of multiple journals such as Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics, Pure and Applied Geophysics, Journal of Geophysical Research or Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology.

Prof. Paolo Di Girolamo is an Associate Professor of Physics in The University of Basilicata. His areas of expertise are Lidar, Remote Sensing, Atmospheric Physics, Meteorology, Boundary Layer Meteorology, Cloud Physics, Climatology, Climate Change, Water Vapour, and Atmospheric Aerosols. He received his Laurea degree in Physics from Università degli Studi di Roma in 1988. Later, he became a Ph.D. in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring in 1996 from the University of Florence.

Dr. Gupta is lead of NASA ARSET Air Quality Team and a research scientist in Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR), USRA at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He has nearly 15 years of experience in research on atmospheric aerosols and remote sensing techniques of earth-atmosphere system. Dr. Gupta holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from University of Alabama in Huntsville. He has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to air quality and climate change around the globe.

Dr. Gordon Huang is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy and Environment, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Regina, Canada. He holds BSC from Peking University (China), MSc from Simon Fraser University (Canada) and PhD from McMaster University (Canada). Since the 1990s, Huang has led over 150 environment-related research projects, produced over 800 peer-refereed international journal papers (with an SCI-based H-index of 55 in Science Citation Index under Thomson Reuters' Web of Science), and supervised over 100 Master/PhD students. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the President of the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences.

Dr. Dimitris G. Kaskaoutis took his PhD in 2009 from the University of Ioannina, Greece. He is working on atmospheric Physics and more specifically on aerosol studies. He is Assistant Professor at Shiv Nadar University, India since 2013 and collaborative research scientist at the National Observatory of Athens since 2003. He has published about 95 papers in international scientific journals with more than 1480 citations by others. He was invited speaker at several Universities and research centers over the globe and participated in research projects in Greece and India.

Prof. Yoon Shin Kim is presently a Chair Professor of air pollution and environmental health in the Department of Environmental Engineering, Konkuk University, South Korea. He is also a Professor Emeritus at Hanyang University (College of Medicine) since March 2015. He has two doctoral degrees of Doctor of Health Sciences in Human Ecology from University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan (1978), and Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from University of Texas School of Public Health, Houston, Texas, USA (1985). His research interest focuses on attempting to identify exposure assessment for chemical and physical characteristics of those indoor and outdoor air pollutants (especially PM10 and PM2.5) responsible for examining their possible adverse health effects.

Prof. Li was born in 1977 in China. He received Ph.d degree in Optics in 2004 and served as Post-Doc and research assistant in France during 2004-2009. He is now professor of Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His researches concern remote sensing of atmospheric aerosols from surface and satellite, characterization and modeling of aerosol and haze properties for environmental monitoring, earth observation and climate change studies.

Professor Husi Letu (male, 1976-09-01) is currently working at State Key Laboratory of the science and Remote Sensing, Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). His research interests include atmospheric radiative transfer simulation, light scattering calculation, cloud remote sensing, and ice cloud property retrievals. He achieved the B.S. and M.S. degrees of geography in Inner Mongolia Normal University, Hohhot, China, in 1999 and 2002 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree of Earth sciences in Chiba University, Chiba, Japan, in 2010. Afterwards, he worked in the Research and Information Center, Tokai University of Japan, from 2010 to 2015. He has been working on the algorithm development and validation of the ice cloud product for JAXA’s GCOM-C satellite missions.

Dr. Anthony R. Lupo, is currently a Professor of Atmospheric Sciences in the Atmospheric Science Program at the University of Missouri. He earned his BS in Meteorology from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1988, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University in 1991 and 1995, respectively. His research has been in the areas of large-scale atmospheric dynamics, climate dynamics, and climate change including modeling, and has several peer-reviewed publications in each of these areas.

Vincenzo Naddeo joined the Department of Civil Engineering at University of Salerno in 2006, after earning his MSc degree with honors in Civil Engineering, and his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. From 2014 dr. Naddeo is associate professor in Sanitary Environmental Engineering. He is expert of the European Union from 2007 in the seventh Framework Programme for Research (FP7) first and now in Horizon 2020.

Dr. Liang Ning is an associate professor in the School of Geographical Sciences at the Nanjing Normal University, and is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Liang Ning got his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Meteorology at the Pennsylvania State University on 2012. His research expertise includes climate change and variability, climate dynamics and modeling, climate extreme events, and applications of climate changes on hydrological, ecological and environmental studies.

Dr. Fatma Öztürk obtained her Ph.D. from Middle East Technical University (METU), Environmental Engineering Department (Ankara, Turkey) in February 2009. She started to work in Abant Izzet Baysal University (AIBU), Environmental Engineering Department (Bolu, Turkey) in September 2009. She is currently Associate Professor at the same department. Her field of expertise includes monitoring of gaseous and particulate atmospheric pollutants with offline and online methods, to find the sources of atmospheric pollutants using advanced receptor techniques and to investigate the impacts of atmospheric pollutants on human health and ecosystem.

Renato Procopio graduated cum laude and got his PhD in electrical engineering in 1999 and in 2004 at the University of Genoa where he is associate professor. He is co-author of more than 100 papers published in international journals or presented at international conferences. He is senior member of IEEE and member of the IEEE Technical Committee 5 - High Power Electromagnetics and of the editorial board of the Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is co-recipient of the Emerald Literati Awards' Outstanding Paper accolade for the best paper published in the Electrical Engineering Journal COMPEL (2003) for the paper “A full-Maxwell algorithm for the field-to-multiconductor line-coupling problem”.

Dr. Farhad Rachidi (IEEE Fellow) is currently a Titular Professor and the head of the EMC Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. He is also an Honorary Professor at the Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. Dr. Rachidi is the author or coauthor of 150 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals and over 350 papers presented at international conferences. He has received numerous awards including the 2005 IEEE EMC Technical Achievement Award, the 2006 Blondel Medal from the French Association of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology and Communication, and the 2016 Karl Berger Award.

Mansueto Rossi is a researcher at the University of Genoa – Italy, where he teaches “Circuit Theory” in the B.Sc. program in Mechatronic Engineering. His research interests are focused on methods for the integration of renewable resources in power networks, microgrids, lightning modelling, transmission line analysis and evaluation of lightning-induced over-voltages. He is involved in the scientific activities carried out at the Savona Campus, collaborating to national and international projects on the topics of lightning studies and smart grids.

Dr. R.B. Singh is Professor of Geography, Department of Geography, DSE, University of Delhi. Dr. Singh is Chair-Research Council-CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore and Member ICSU Scientific Committee-UHW. Prof. Singh is Vice-President, IGU since 2012. He is Member IAP Working Group for statement on Science and Technology for DRR. Dr. Singh is also Member-Research Council of CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow. He was awarded JSPS Research Fellowship and others for presenting papers and Chairing session in more than 40 countries. He has to his credit 13 books, 33 edited research volumes and more than 200 research papers. He has supervised 32 Ph.D. and 77 M.Phil students.

Mustafa Turkmen is a full Professor in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science & Arts, Giresun University. He is head of Department of General Biology. He has 30 years of professional experience in his area. He has successfully organized national and international symposium. He has managed a lot of projects. Mustafa Turkmen has supervised a total of 25 (twenty three) postgraduate students to completion. Additionally, he is currently supervising a total of twelve (12) postgraduate students. He has published a total of 108 scientific papers that include articles in peer reviewed journals, book chapter and conference proceedings. He has reviewed a lot of papers in peer reviewed journals (in total; 477). He was awarded as the recognized and outstanding reviewer by Elsevier. Additionally, he has a lot of awards of “Excellence in Reviewing” by Science Domain. His papers were cited in total 1843. He was awarded with “2016 Highly Cited Researchers”, “Publons Peer Review Award as one of the top 10 per cent of researchers contributing to the peer review of the field of Agricultural and Biological Sciences in 2016”, “Publons Peer Review Award-as one of the top 1 per cent of peer review in Multidisciplinary in 2017”, “Publons Peer Review Award-as one of the top 1 per cent of peer review in Agricultural and Biological Sciences in 2018”. He is serving as an editor of several reputed journals like “Advances in Clinical Toxicology (ACT)”, “SCIREA Journal of Environment” and “Journal of Fisheries and Aquaculture Research (JFAR)”, “Madridge Journal of Aquaculture Research & Development”, “International Journal of Environmental Monitoring and Analysis”. Besides, he is serving as and chief editor of Asian Journal of Advances in Agricultural Research. He is dean of Faculty of Engineering of Giresun University. Mustafa Turkmen ranks in Webometrics rankings of Turkish scientists for 2015 and 2016.

Dr Chris G. Tzanis is an Assistant Professor in Atmospheric Physics at the Section of Environmental Physics and Meteorology, Department of Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. His research interests include Climate Physics, Climate Dynamics, Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry, Remote Sensing, Air Pollution, Aerosols.

Sunita Verma received her Doctorate degree (2001–2005) in atmospheric sciences from the Center for Atmospheric Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India. Verma served for two years (2006–2008) as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Jet Propulsion Laboratory at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif., USA. She served as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Excellence in Climatology at Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Extension Centre Jaipur from April 2009 to November 2017. Verma received NASA Group Achievement Award, ARCTAS-2008 field campaign, USA.

Dr. Kumar is a research Scientist at Texas A&M university, Corpus Christi, USA. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the weather-climate research, multi-model ensemble schemes, downscaling, extreme rainfall prediction, modeling suing WRF and data handling. Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Meteorology from Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), India and MTech from Pune University, India in Atmospheric Science. Notably, Dr. Kumar has authored more than 30 manuscripts including 2 book chapters.

Dr. Quan Wang received the Ph.D. degree in plant ecology from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 1997. He is currently a Professor and a Faculty Member with the Faculty of Agriculture, Shizuoka University, Shizuoka, Japan. His recent research interests include remote sensing applications, radiative transfer models, carbon / water cycles, and climatic changes.

Dr. Chenghai Wang obtained his Ph.D. degree (in 2002) in Atmosphere physics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou, China. Presently, Dr. Wang is affiliated with the College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China. His skills and expertise mainly lie in the subject areas/fields of Meteorology, Climate Science, WRF, Atmosphere, Evapotranspiration, Lightning, Regional Climate Modeling, Remote Sensing, etc. Dr. Wang has published over 50 manuscripts in various journals of international repute.

Dr. Weidinger obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in geography (meteorology) from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He also C.Sc (Candidate of Sciences) in Mathematical and Physical Sciences from Russian State Hydrometeorological University (Sankt Petersburg). Dr. Weidinger holds a Master’s degree in Meteorology from the Eötvös Lorand University (Budapest, Hungary). Currently Dr. Weidinger is a habilitated Associate professor at Department of Meteorology, Eötvös Lorand University. His main research topics are surface-biosphere-atmosphere exchange processes (measuring and modeling), boundary layer meteorology, dynamical meteorology. His main teaching activities are general meteorology, dynamical meteorology, micrometeorology and applied numerical modeling. He is author or co-author of more than 70 refereed scientific journal publications.

Dr. Yang joined Institute of Atmospheric Physics (CAS) in 2008. She has focused on studying lightning, sprites, jets and their effects in near-earth space environment. Her research involves building optical imaging systems, developing magnetic field measurement tools and analyzing data collected from ground- and satellite-based measurements. Her work has been published in JGR, Atmos. res., JASTP, TAO, Chin. Sci. bull., Adv. Atmos. Sci., etc. She received Award for Meteorological Science and Technology Outstanding Paper for Young and Middle-aged Scientist in 2014, Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS in 2013, Xie Yibing Meteorological Science and Technology Award for Yong Scientist in 2012, President Scholarship of CAS in 2008.

Dr. Zhao is a professor and the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences. He is in charge of the Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiments of China as the chief scientist. Dr. Zhao got his Ph.D. in the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences. His research fields are in East Asian monsoon, climate mechanisms, and Tibetan Plateau meteorology. He has published more than 150 scientific publications.

Prof. Unal Akkemik is currently a Professor of Botany at Istanbul University. His main research areas of study are mainly on different branches of annual analysis of wood such as wood anatomy, wood definition of current and fossil woods, climatology, dating, geomorphology and dendroecology. He is associated with International Association of Wood Anatomist since 2000 and Tree-Ring Society since 2002.

Dr. Antti Arola (Research Prof., tenure track at FMI) is currently leading the Atmospheric Radiation group at the FMI’s Atmospheric Research Centre of Eastern Finland. He is also Docent (Adj. Prof.) in Remote Sensing at the University of Eastern Finland. He has expertise on several aspects of atmospheric radiation and on the effect of aerosols on solar radiation. He has participated in several EU projects (e.g. GEMS, MACC, MAUVE, SUVDAMA, EDUCE) and is the PI of surface UV product in the international OMI science team. He has published about 60 peer reviewed international journal articles.

Klaus Dethloff was Professor of Atmospheric Physics at the University Potsdam, and Head of the AWI research section Atmospheric Circulation of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Potsdam. He got his PhD in 1979 in Theoretical Physics from the University Rostock. His main research topics are physics of the atmosphere, physics of the climate system, hierarchy of atmospheric and climate models, global impacts of polar processes and nonlinear dynamics of the climate system. In 2016 he was elected as member of the Leibniz-Society.

Dr. Giacomo Gerosa is a professor at the Catholic University of Brescia. His research interests are focused on Forest and agricultural ecology, Bioinformatics, Ecotoxcology, Environmental monitoring, atmospheric pollutants, depositional and emission Modeling. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications and other non-refered 40 publications. He has participated in more than 40 national and international meeting on scientifical subjects related to the research activty with oral presentation, written papers and Posters.

Ismail Gultepe currently works at Environment and Climate Change Canada, Toronto, Canada. Ismail does research in Meteorology, Cloud Physics, Arctic Weather, Remote Sensing and Climatology. His current project is on cold fog and snow.

Nikolaos Hatzianastassiou is currently an Associate Professor at Physics Department at the University of Ioannina. His major research interests include Cloud Physics (aerosol-cloud interactions), Atmospheric Solar and Terrestrial Radiation Transfer, Aerosol physical, optical and radiative properties and Physical climatology. He has been an active participant at International workshops and is a referee of international peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Geophysical Research, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, Atmospheric Environment etc.

Giorgi Jandieri graduated from Tbilisi 55th high school with gold medal in 1966. In 1979, the Supreme Attestation Commission of the USSR awarded G. Jandieri the degree of physics mathematical sciences. He was actively involved in the work of the well-known physicist-theorist, Nobel laureate Lev Lantau. Since 1995 he is a professor of physics department of the Faculty of Informatics of the Technical University of Georgia. He is the author of the 2 monographs: "Türbüllen" in "1999" and "Razvay" and "Razvay" and 1999 " C. Jandier has published a 300-th scientific work on research and research in foreign scientific journals and international conferencing materials.

She is Head of the Department of Physical Geography of the Institute of Geography Titular teacher. Her areas of specialization are climatology, biogeography, hydrography and environmental education.Has published more than 50 scientific papers in national and international journals and a similar number of lectures at international conferences and conferences.She has published more than 20 books on Geography of Chile and has directed around 30 projects with national and foreign scientists. She was awarded for her scientific work by International Development Research Center of Canada.

Dr Wesam Al Madhoun, Holding PhD of Environmental Engineering (Thesis: Air Pollution Monitoring and Modelling), Post-Doctoral Fellowship on Air Quality Monitoring and Assessment and MIT Fellowship on Low Carbon Cities. He has 13 years’ experience as researcher and consultant on Air Quality, where He worked in Malaysia, Brunei, South Korea, Canada and USA. Recently he served as; External Reviewer-Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research: External Review of Capacity Building Proposals. "2018-2019", External Reviewer-UN Environment: External Review of "Atmospheric Pollution in the Asia Pacific: Science-based Solutions " Report and External Reviewer-Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report. Dr Al Madhoun published more than 35 papers in international journals and conferences, and he supervised 14 Postgraduates students who conducted research on different aspects of Air Pollution.

Dr. Hanefi Bayratkar is presently serving as a Professor at Engineering Faculty, University of Ataturk, Turkey. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Meteorological Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Meteorological Engineering, Turkey and M.Sc. from Ataturk University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Environmental Engineering, Turkey. He further obtained PhD from the same institution. He has contributed his valuable publications in different scientific journals.

Dr. Conte is a physicist and obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Salento, Italy, in 2016. She has a researcher position at the Institute of Atmospheric Science and Climate of the Italian National Research Council (ISAC-CNR) since 2019. Her principal expertise is on the dynamics and the exchange of particles between the atmosphere and the surface. Her research line is focused on the pollutants and particle interactions with the atmosphere. In this contest, she has worked on turbulent dispersion and transport processes, aerosol dynamics, emission, deposition, and transformation processes in the atmosphere, as well as studying the physical and chemical properties of atmospheric particulate matter. The focal point of her research has been on the identification and characterization of different particulate sources and relative estimate of their contribution to the environment.

Dr. Kenawy is currently a lecturer in Physical Geography in the Department of Geography, Mansoura University (Egypt). His research interests and activities are multidisciplinary, involving geography, atmospheric sciences, water resources management, geographic information sciences and remote sensing. In particular, his research squarely explores human-environment interactions, with special attention to climate change and variability across a variety of different spatial and temporal scales. Guided by observational results, he employs climate model output, numerical simulations, besides powerful techniques such as remote sensing and geographic information systems, to investigate atmospheric system and processes.

Dr. Tao Gao research interests are Regional extreme precipitation, Large-scale air-sea interaction and Statistical downscaling. He did PhD. in Environmental Science from Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China in 2014. Currently he is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and also an Assistant Professor in Heze University.

Dr. Amit K. Gorai serving in Department of Mining Engineering, NIT, Rourkela, Odisha, India. He did his graduation and post-graduation in Mining Engineering from IIEST, Shibpur, Howrah. Dr. Gorai obtained his PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from ISM Dhanbad, India. Dr. Gorai had also associated with the CIMFR Dhanbad, BIT Sindri, and BIT Mesra, Ranchi, Jackson State University, U.S.A. in different positions.

Dr. Gorai’s research focuses on the air quality monitoring, assessment, and modelling with an emphasis to understand the impact on human health. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Weifei Hu did his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, USA in 2015. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Associate in Cornell University (MAE), Ithaca, NY. Dr. Hu research interests are Computer-Aided Design and Optimization, Structural Health Monitoring and Wind Gust and Turbulence. He has numerous publications to his credit.

Research Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in China, with research interests in hydroclimate extremes, climate risk from compound events, and atmosphere-climate-hydrology interactions. He obtained a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (Hydroclimatology) from the University of Oulu (Finland) and M.Sc. in Geo and Water Engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden). In August 2014, he received the best student presentation in the Nordic Water Conference 2014. In 2014, he was selected as Finland’s delegate in Management Committee of TUD COST Action TU1405 (GABI), European Cooperation in Science and Technology (e-COST – part of Horizon 2020).

I obtained my Ph.D. in physics, specialising in energy in 2004. Since then, I have been working at the French institute for Radiological protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN). My main research topic concerns the study, at microphysical scale, of the interactions between the aerosol particles with clouds and precipitations. This is performed, in order to be able to model the radioactive fallout in case of nuclear accident with radiological release. I also work on the development of optical airborne diagnostics to characterise droplets and ice crystals, in clouds.

I’m a professor from Shanghai Typhoon Institute. My research interest is mainly focused on numerical weather prediction, e.g., physical parameterization, data assimilation, and numerical simulation. I have proposed a new convective parameterization scheme with cooperation of Prof. Tan Z -M (Ma and Tan, 2009) for improving rainfall prediction, which has been introduced into the NCAR/WRF numerical model (V3.3~3.8). According to WRF’s official report, the scheme was verified effective in improving the false alarm problem of the original Kain-Fritsch scheme.

Dr. Ali Danandeh Mehr did his Ph.D. from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2016. His received his M.Sc. in Power and Water from University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2005. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Near East University, Nicosia, North Cyprus. Dr. Mehr research interests are Surface Water Hydrology and Rainfall-Runoff modeling, Statistical Hydrology and Hydroinformatics, River Basin Modeling and Flood Hazard Mitigation and Catchment-Scale Climate Change Impacts Assessment.

Dr. Deepthi Rajsekhar research interests are Surface water hydrology and climate change, Drought analysis, Watershed modeling, Large scale hydrologic modeling, Geographic information systems and Remote Sensing, Multivariate data analysis, Spatial statistics, Risk and Vulnerability analysis and management, Food-water nexus, Societal impacts of climate change, Land use and land cover changes, Design of experiments, Pattern recognition, and lastly Entropy based modeling in hydrological systems. She did her PhD from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA in 2014. Currently, she is involved in research projects/activities at the Department of Water Resources, Sacramento, California, USA and Stanford University, Stanford, California, USA.

Sergio Toledo Redondo is currently working as a Research fellow at European Space Agency, Madrid, Spain. He also worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF), Uppsala, Sweden and at University of Granada, Spain. He has earned Ph.D. in Physics by University of Granada in 2012.His skills and expertise are in Numerical Simulation Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, Atmosphere, Plasma, Waveguides, Plasma Physics, Satellite, Electromagnetism, Space Physics, and Electromagnetic Fields. He has contributed more than 20 publications.

Dr. Bowen Xing did his Ph.D. in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Harbin Engineering University in the year 2016. His research focuses on the multidisciplinary study of the problems at the intersection of control, networks, computation and intellectualization. In particular, his current research thrusts include Vehicle Information System with the aim to design a whole size computation environment to a large scale vehicle. Cyber-physical System Security with the aim to build theoretical foundations in the intrusion detection of large scale cyber-physical systems. Currently, he is Lecturer at Shanghai Ocean University, College of Engineering, Engineering Building Pudong, Shanghai, China.

Dr. Jiahua Zhang is a Research Professor at the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is one of the “100 talents of CAS”. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Remote Sensing Application, CAS in Cartography and Remote Sensing.His research interests include climate change & atmospheric environment remote sensing, atmospheric–hydrological–ecological cycles, earth system interaction estimation and modelling; Disaster monitoring and assessment using remote sensing, modeling and GIS. He has been Principle Investigator for over ten major national projects in China and for several international cooperation projects. He has published more than 100 peer review papers, 30 international conferences papers and 6 books.
